Our Story

A family of five with coffee fuelled mum & dad. The story began when we fell in love and shared the strong connection most of us have with the ocean and surfing. A duo who have surfed for as long as we can remember, Mum who grew up surfing Avoca Beach corner with her girlfriends & Dad who grew up on Copacabana point with his brothers.

For us there is nothing than better than bringing fun into surfing so, we endeavour to uplift the happiness of surfing through colour therapy by including our ethically sourced Indian textiles into our bespoke surf boards.

Beau Atchison (dad) the hands behind it all, the craftsman that brings the beautiful vision to life, builder by day, surfboard manufacturer by night, the "why do we need a website and social media?" old school surfer, the one that sheds the blood & sweat but most of all the coolest dad and most committed family man.

Salted by Tilly, created in November 2017 when Beau was given a piece of fabric to put on a surfboard by a nesting, heavily pregnant woman who came up with the idea of an art home decor surf board for our 6 x 6 metre house (double garage) after much protest and experimenting the board came to life. It lasted no more than one week on my personal social media before we were offered an offer that was to good to refuse, Beau was sent of to make another board for the tiny home which was again was sold of to a very keen buyer, the rest is history. Here is that first Salted by Tilly board and that tiny kitchen in that tiny house 🙂
